David Lawrence

David was the headteacher of both an infant school and a primary school in an area of high deprivation for 8 years. On leaving headship he became a primary school inspector in the same inner urban authority where he had been a headteacher. He remained with the authority for 15 years becoming Senior Primary Inspector and then Senior School Improvement Officer.

In addition to his role as a local authority officer David has undertaken OFSTED inspections as a team inspector, been a school improvement partner and worked with governing bodies as an accredited headteacher performance management adviser. He has also participated in the inspection of Early Years Settings as a specialist Early Years Inspector.

More recently David has worked in a large urban authority as a locality lead in the school improvement team. During the last 2 years he has worked as a commissioning manager for school improvement with Staffordshire County Council. In this role he has worked with a variety of schools including those in special measures.
